An Upper Darby institution will soon go dark.
Pica’s Restaurant will close this summer after 70 years in business. The West Chester Pike eatery known for its upside-down square pizza announced the decision on social media. No specific closing date was given.
The restaurant gained national attention a decade ago when when Jimmy Fallon brought out a Pica's pizza on The Tonight Show when Upper Darby native Tina Fey was a guest. And Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy more recently reviewed its staple pie.
Pica’s did say it plans to continue to operate its satellite location in West Chester. It also plans to find a smaller location in Delaware County, it said.
